Frontier Communications Partners with Hughes for Quicker Broadband

The demand for broadband is rising in almost every part of the world. With more and more people uploading large volumes of pictures, videos and voice messages, demand for higher speeds and more digital space is increasing at an unprecedented rate.

Looking to cater to this market, Frontier Communications, the largest provider of communications services concentrating on rural America, has signed a wholesale agreement with Hughes (News ? Alert) Network Systems, LLC (Hughes), a source of broadband satellite networks and services.

According to the agreement, Frontier will distribute satellite-based broadband services, branded Frontier Broadband, which will improve speed considerably. It will also have the ability to serve numerous households and small businesses within markets previously not served or underserved by all broadband providers, including cable.

Frontier Broadband provides highly-trained, 100 percent U.S.-based local installation, customer service and support teams. The company makes use of will the Hughes EchoStar XVII Satellite with JUPITER High-Throughput Technology, which will allow HughesNet Gen4 satellite Internet services for Frontier Broadband customers, the company stated in a news release.

According to Melinda White, executive vice president of revenue development for Frontier, ?We are very excited to offer a new, high-performance broadband Internet service. This is another example of Frontier?s unwavering commitment to making broadband access ubiquitous ? especially in rural America. We chose Hughes because it shares that vision and has the proven ability to bring high-quality technology to customers around the world.?

Recently, the company introduced an online Small Business Social Media All-Star contest to recognize the best small business-focused social media initiatives in its markets.
